thoughts:      the screen saver on my laptop varies, sometimes it's a kaleidoscope of colors. Makes me think of a toy Kaleidoscope I had as a kid... I loved to look through it, turn it and every time were different shapes and colors. I also had a metal top with a handle that you pushed so it'd turn faster and faster... I'd stare at it and the bright red, blue, yellow, and clown shapes would make many different shapes and color combinations. Always something new:  I was mesmerized every time.  I'd carry it to either grandpa and ask them to push the handle (they were strong and could make it go a lot faster than I could)... we'd laugh and giggle till the top would slow down, stop and fall over. Such fun we had.     In thinking of this, it reminds me how much life is like that. The harder you push, the faster you go... go ... go .... go ... until sometimes you just drop and fall over.  Most humans are not satisfied with just enjoying "the simple t...

today is just as important as yesterday or tomorrow. today is just that: today. enjoy, create, make the most of, reflect on... you can do all these things and more with today. you can be sad, glad, or in between with today. you can be thankful, wishful, prayerful, dreamy about today. this is your today. do with today what you wish, or what you need to do. God gives us today, tomorrow, eternity.  today is neither here nor there, now or then, it just IS.  how are you going to use today?

Winter at Tom's cabin. Beautiful. A lot happened since my last post. R.I.P. Bob Anderson. Alma moved to Missouri. Snow on the trees. Have a wonderful New Year ahead. God's blessings abound.

Today I missed my Dad.  He's been in heaven almost 4 years, but today was his Birthday.  He would've been 94.  Spent this morning at church. This afternoon boating on a local lake.  Dad liked boating... I think he'd have enjoyed the day.  Through all this heat we've had clear skies. Today the clouds rolled in.  These clouds I photographed reminded me of angel wings.... sort of a "sign" from my Daddy.  Thanks Dad, I appreciate your creativity and love. Give your parents a hug if they are still in your life. If they have passed on, give someone else's parents a hug, they will like it, trust me, there are never too many hugs in your life.

You can brighten someone's day, simply by giving them a cheerful smile.  This little yellow flower seemed to brighten my morning.  I pray all your days will be sunny and fun.  Pass it on,  give someone a smile today.
