My Dad. A kind, sort of quiet guy.... until you got him to talking, then came the stories. I miss hearing his stories. Tales of "when I was a kid".... "the show cost a nickel, but we were poor, so my brother and cousins and I snuck into the theatre." you know, those kind of stories. Then there was WWII. Wow.... the older I get the more I appreciate what he must have gone through. He was a 'pre-flight engineer' in the US Army. He had the last say of whether a plane could take off, or not. One of his worst memories was of a flight out of St. Louis on a cold, icy night. A young "officer" decided my dad didn't know #@!$% about flying, so he disobeyed the grounded order, and loaded about 50 soldiers, and himself and .... well .... the outcome was a fatal disaster. My father would describe the scene with tears in his eyes, and pain in his heart. All those young lives gone in an instant, just because a "know-it-all" pilot had to ha...

Well, I was hoping to go shoot some photos today of flowers, and pretty landscapes.... ummm... Mother Nature decided we need more rain. So I look in the back yard for flowers... I found a few droopy ones, and rose bushes that need some sunshine to get their blooms open. Here is a new rose bush (see the tiny bud in the center?)... covered with raindrops. Pretty in its own way, but not the photo for which I was searching. Maybe there is a lesson here: you can search all you want, day after day, but things are as they are. Some days we get sunshine and good feelings, some days not so much. We must learn to make the best of what is given, and be thankful in all things. Have a blessed day, and enjoy the "raindrops" in your life too!

I just have to post a photo of this Awesome hot tub, deck and view.... this is part of the lovely "Heavenly Oaks Bed and Breakfast". Soon we will have an "open house" preview. Text me, message me, email or somehow contact me if you would like to be invited..... I am sure there will be a raffle or drawing for a night's stay in this relaxing B&B. Heavenly Oaks is a jewel in the county: relaxing, yet close to both nature and city life entertainment destinations. Thomas Anderson (my fiance') is the host, and I suppose I am the "hostess"... hmmmm that title sounds a little pretentious for me, but "y'all come in now"!!! Lol.

Earth Hour tonight 8:30 - 9:30 we had a candlelight dinner and wine.... yes, romantic and fun. But the first thing Tom said: 'I can't See!!' He's so funny... and lovable. It's now 10:30 and no electric lights on... just candles. So cool. Try it - I dare ya - just one night a week. You will appreciate all that you have, so much more. We are blessed in many ways, and sometimes forget those blessings. Count them. Go ahead... count your blessings, I dare ya... well, most likely you will get tired after about the 25th blessing, and you haven't touched the tip of the iceberg. Say prayers of thanksgiving for all your blessings each and every day.
